Frequently Asked Questions
What is an event?
An event is a user interaction in your product. Tidepool groups events into two primary categories: text events and product events.
- Text events contain unstructured text (e.g. from a user interacting with an LLM). Tidepool will help you discover meaningful attributes in your text event set.
- Product events are app interactions that don’t contain unstructured text (e.g. a user making a purchase).
What is an Attribute?
An Attribute is a derived group of categories on top of LLM events in a project. You can create Attributes manually, or you can accept Tidepool’s automated proposals.
As an example, say you wanted to get insight into the tone of your customer conversations and compare conversational vs professional tone. To do this, you could create a Tone Attribute along with Tone: Conversational and Tone: Professional Attribute categories. Tidepool would then automatically organize all events into either category when viewing the Tone Attribute.
Over time, categories within an Attribute may update as your data changes or you refine the relevant categories. Depending on your usage tier, you may have a limited number of Attributes.
What happens if I go over my limits?
Once you hit your event or derived Attribute limits, you won’t be able to ingest new events or create new Attributes. You can upgrade to increase your Event and Attribute limits, or you can continue to use the app with the limits in place.
